Oplenova hiša

The Museum of Residential Culture Oplen's house under Studor was opened to the public in 1991. All rooms are equipped with authentic equipment from the last owners, so the house is an interesting display of the residential culture of the people of Bohinj from the beginning of the 20th century.

The current building was probably built at the beginning of the 19th century, and it was built instead of an older wooden house. Oplen's house is a Bohinj homestead of the thigh-type, which combines residential and commercial premises under a common roof. The building is brick and combined with wood.

The residential part consists of a hall with a kitchen, a house and a chamber, as well as an attic and a basement. It is one of the few houses where it is still possible to light a fire on the hearth of the black kitchen.

The house is a central living room with a table under a bog's corner, benches and a clay oven. Attic, i.e. ISPA served as storage for crops, clothing, footwear and tools.

The economic part of the building consists of a stable, a barn and a special litter box. As in the past, farm tools and utensils are stored in the barn. Many of these objects were contributed by the villagers of Studor for the museum installation.
