Slap Savica

Savica is a karst spring, a waterfall and a stream that flows into the delta into The lake of Bohinj. The Savica waterfall certainly belongs to those more famous waterfalls that have a touch of romance and somewhat historical significance. It is one of the most visited Slovenian waterfalls and also has great tourist importance in the Bohinj area. Even France Prešeren sang it in more humorous songs... And it was at the foot of the waterfall that the idea for the famous poem Krst pri Savica probably came up. In the summer, at dawn, when the first rays of the sun touch the falling strand of water, a wonderful rainbow is formed at the waterfall. The visible part of Savica receives water from the area of 500 m higher lying Black Lake. When we could venture into the mysterious underground, we would certainly come across high underground waterfalls.
