In the Slovenian Mountain Museum, the past and the present join hands. A rich collection of objects with a varied historical narrative, a variety of photographic and archival material and an extensive professional library offer the visitor an insight into the multitude and importance of mountain activities in the Slovenian area. A Permanent Exhibition It is designed as a museum narrative that we experience through our own ascent of the mountain.

The Slovenian Mountain Museum in Mojstrana was opened in 2010. It is a project of several equal partners: Mountaineering Association of Slovenia, Triglav National Park, Municipality of Kranjska Gora, Dovje-Mojstrana Mountaineering Association, Gornjesava Museum of Jesenice, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Service governments for local self-government and regional development, the August Delavac Foundation, Slovenian Mountaineering Club Skala. It represents a unique mountain and mountaineering center in Slovenia. It intertwines historical testimonies about the beginnings and development of Slovenian mountaineering and mountaineering with the current achievements of Slovenians in domestic and foreign mountains. With its mission, the Slovenian Mountain Museum nurtures the tradition and values of mountaineers and educates young people in the spirit of love for the mountains and respect for the preservation of the mountain world.

• Summer time: every day from 1.6.-14.9.: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Winter time: every day 15 September - 31 May 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
