Turistično društvo Kamn’k

As early as 1904, a tourist association was founded in Kamnik, which was then called the Kamnik Beautification Association. Kamnik is one of the few cities where you can actually boast that the tourist association has a centuries-old tradition here.

In 1966, the Kamnik Tourist Association organized the first national costumes, which today are one of the most recognizable events in Slovenia. Unfortunately, the association went bankrupt at the end of the century precisely because of the excessive desire for good organization of national costumes. In order not to die out, a group of young people founded a new association in 2004 - the Kamn'k Tourist Association. Basically, we take care of greater recognition of Kamnik both in the tourism and cultural fields. We try to achieve this with our projects, with which we try to draw tourists, and especially locals, to draw attention to our rich cultural heritage.

We carry out many projects a year that are related to tourism in one way or another. We ourselves organized or participated in the following projects: a competition for the best souvenir, a survey of tourists, organization of round tables on tourism, an accordion competition on national costumes, the Kamfest festival, the Medieval Days, the Alpe Marathon, the city, the hikes to Budnarjeva Homemade,...

Since 2007, we have been managing the 350-year-old Budnar museum house in Zg. Palovče nad Kamnik, which has recently taken up the most energy and time.
