In winter you can see a traditional Cerkljan's laufaria, and in the summer picturesque Archaeological site of wild babe, hidden above the Idrijca valley, under the Šebreljska Plateau, where the oldest musical instrument in the world was found in a karst cave in Paleolithic layers, Neanderthal flute.

Those of you who like to surrender to the white slopes during the winter months, we invite you to a modernly decorated Cerkno Ski Center We offer well-arranged accommodation facilities in the hotel, in the restaurant SC Cerkno on the ski slope, in many private rooms and apartments near the ski resort or after the rest of the unspoiled Cerkljanska. During the summer months you can stop in Partisan hospital Franji in the Pasice gorge and at the same time see the Kamlonarše homestead and The birthplace of the writer France Bevko in Zakojca.

rail traffic: The nearest railway station is at Most na Soča, where there are connections to Gorenjska (Bohinj) and Nova Gorica. More at: www.slo-zeleznice.si

Bus traffic: In Cerkno there is a bus stop with regular bus connections with Idrija, Ljubljana and Škofja Loka. More at: www.ap-ljubljana.si

Car traffic: You can get to Cerkne by car from major cities such as Ljubljana, Kranj and Nova Gorica in one hour or an hour and a half. Cerkno is accessible from the Gorenjska side via Škofja Loka (50 km) through Poljanska dolina (center) or through Selška dolina (skiing). From the Ljubljana side, the best access is via Logatac and Idrija (80 km). From the Goriška side there is access via the Soča valley and further along the Idrijca valley to Cerkne (65 km).
