Homestead Selak is located in the very center of Šentjerne. At the entrance, we are greeted by a sculpture of a rooster, which is made from a basic farm tool: a piece, sickles, a shovel, an axe, a hoe, a rake...

Otilia wine shop
Vinoteka offers wines from the four largest winemakers in the Šentjernej valley. The basic wine is the Dolenj specialty cviček. Through multivision, we get to know the characteristics and beauties of our places.

Visit us in Šentjernej, where we have been maintaining the coexistence of man and vines for centuries. We are ready to share these experiences with you over wine and other delicacies.

A collection of cocks
More than 500 rooster exhibits collected from all over the world are on display. They are made of different materials from glass, ceramics, wood, metal... The exhibition of roosters is picturesquely coordinated with the space, which once represents a strong and solid farm with rich architecture. The visitor feels their uprightness, their belligerence, and especially their beauty. The collected roosters represent the largest collection in Slovenia.

In the Otilija wine shop, we offer guided wine tastings (tastings). In the idyllic surroundings of the wine shop, where you can see all the beauty of wood and stone architecture, we present four winemakers to you.

For all winemakers, the basic wine is cviček, which all four together in their best years produce about a million liters. During the guided tasting, we also always offer all the best and field selected wines that receive the best awards at the local and Slovenian level. We offer all the wines produced by winemakers from blue Frankinia, rose wine, all white and also predicate wines, which have a special validity in our wine shop.

All wines can also be bought, which are suitable for home use, or for a nice gift to a friend.

In addition to tasting, we also offer home-made cold cuts (homemade salami, homemade bread...)

a collection of old musical instruments
The collection of musical instruments consists of more than 150 different instruments and illustrates musical instruments over the centuries. A wide variety of percussion instruments, wind instruments, brass, strums, strings and key instruments are collected.

The instruments come from different countries, such as American banjo, Russian balalaika, Indian drums, Brazilian guitar, African flutes...
The entire collection is exhibited as a beautifully arranged collection of musical instruments, which shows the visitor all the beauty of the culture of the whole world in one place.

About Otilia
Otilija Gebauer was a long-time teacher in Šentjerne. The Gebauers were the owners of an outbuilding that was built in 1829 and sold it to neighbors Petru and Neža Selak in 1956. A well-preserved picture of the former owner, after whom the wine shop Otilija is named, remained in the cellar.
