Črnuški dom na Mali planini (1526 m)

The home is located on the scenic edge of Mala planina, the eastern and slightly lower part of the Velika planina mountain plateau. Below it is the Planšar settlement of the Mala planina grazing community. The home with floor plan dimensions (13x10 m) is a brick building with a concrete structure and has four floors. In the basement there is a water tank, a hydrophore, a boiler room, a small workshop, a multi-purpose room, a main storage room, a ski storage room and a bathroom with a shower. On the ground floor there are toilets, a kitchen, a storage room, three catering rooms with a total of 58 seats and a bar counter. On the first floor there are toilets, a bathroom with a shower, a room with a bathroom for the caretaker and six rooms for guests with a total of 19 beds. In the attic there is a shared bedroom with 17 beds. The roof and facade of the home are lined with brown trim sheet. The home has electricity, central heating and a sufficient amount of water from two of its own reservoirs. In front of the house there are tables and benches for a total of 100 visitors. The home is temporarily open on weekends. In the summer months, it is supplied by car, and in the winter by snowmobiles or a snow blower.

From home, especially from the peak ribs above it, there is a beautiful view in all directions. Towards the east, the grassy and wooded slopes of Velika planina descend towards Volovljek and the Gornja valley of Podvolovljek, which is armed from left to right by the chain: Veliki Rogatec, Lepenatka, Kašni vrh, Kašna planina and Kranjska a rib that descends to the Črnivec pass. On the other side of Črnivac, you can clearly see the massif of the Menina planina plateau, and in the background the Zasava hills. In the south, the view stretches through the Ljubljana basin, the Polhograj hills, Krim and Mokrec to Nanos, Javornik and Snežnik to Snježnik and Risnjak in Gorski Kotar. In the west, there is a side massif of the Kamniška Alps, which descends via Krvavac, Koren, Kompotela, Mokrica, Kalška ridge and Kalška gora to Kokrško sedlo. In the background is the southern and southeastern part of the Julian Alps. From the northwest to the northeast, the central massif of the Kamniški Alps with the peaks of Grintovec, Skuta, Turske gora, Brane, Planjava, Lučka Baba and Škarij to Ojstrica climbs to Velika planina, and nearby is the highest peak of Velika Planina Gradišče or Njivice.

Several marked, hunting and shepherd's trails lead to Dom na Mali planina. You can choose the length and difficulty of walking according to your readiness and time. Only marked paths are described at this place, and visits to unmarked paths are not recommended for the uninitiated, as they are very demanding in terms of orientation, especially in bad weather conditions. The described routes are marked on the attached map. Some start in the valley, until the beginnings of others, in the list of routes below they are marked with the letter A, and it is necessary to drive by car through the Črna or Podvolovljek valley to Kranjski Raka and further to the slopes of Velika planina. The desire of mountaineers is to keep the cars as few as possible in this area, so we recommend to true mountaineers the routes from the valley, which are all very picturesque and offer a lot of mountain pleasures. Shorter variants are intended for less physically fit visitors.
