A unique experience in the middle of Istria...

The houses of Slovenian Istria are located in the middle of a vineyard with a view of the sea.

The houses imitate old Istrian houses. They have a characteristic gable roof, a full roof, a roof covered with old bars, walls, paths and hearths are built with Istrian stone, the facade is rough, and the colors of the houses are copies of the colors located on the old houses of the surrounding villages as They are Babiči, Vršič and Jurasi, and which were characteristic of houses after the Second World War. Most of the furniture is from the beginning of the last century.

Nature, culture and peace

A pergola winds in front of the houses, under which visitors can enjoy the fresh coastal air, sit on wooden benches with tables, and in the evenings they chat casually by the fireplace. The cottages stand on the family property and represent an upgrade of already existing tourist rooms and apartments. In front of the houses is an orchard dominated by figs, cherries, hazelnuts, peaches and olives, as well as Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary, laurel, basil, sage and various vegetables. All this with the aim of the tourist getting to know the typical vegetation of the Istrian environment and, if he wishes, serving fresh vegetables and fruits.

Šavrinke - Our None

The houses are named after Šavrinka: Jajčarica, Krušarica and Mlekarica. Each one presents the story of Šavrink and the described history of Slovenian Istria in several languages. There are also some elements from that time in the cottages: in the milkmaid's house there is a jug of milk, in the house of the ovary there is an old basket, and in the house of Krušarica there is a pleinjer. Šavrinka were women who walked a huge number of kilometers every day to the nearest major cities (Trieste and Koper) in order to sell domestic products and support many families in this way.

Innovation & Tradition

It is a project that represents an innovation in the field of tourist accommodation in our country. That is why the houses of Slovenian Istria already won prizes in the 2011 IOC development competition in the first months of its existence and the Snovalec tender, an award for innovative projects in tourism under the auspices of the Slovenian Tourist Organization. Historian Alberto Pucer and Tomaža Štefe - a studio of business success - joined the cooperation with their professionalism.

The Municipality of Koper, the Provincial Archives of Koper, the Bank of Tourist Opportunities of Slovenia and the Slovenian Tourist Organization, which participated in its implementation, also recognized that it is a quality project worthy of attention.

Each house is an independent unit.

Guests can choose from:

• ovary (for two people, queen size bed),
• Krušarica (for two people, separate beds),
• milkmaid (for three people, double bed and single bed)
• The cottages are placed within the camping area.

The houses have no electricity, guests receive all the necessary lighting equipment upon arrival.

Toilet rooms (bathrooms) are arranged just a few meters away.

It is also possible to set up tents.
