Občina Štore

The municipality of Štore covers an area of 28.1 km2, in a predominantly hilly area along the Voglajna River, on the eastern edge of the Celje Basin. The municipality has approximately 4,144 inhabitants who live in 12 settlements: Draga, Javornik, Kanjuce, Kompole, Laška vas pri Štorah, Ogorevc, Pečovje, Prožinska vas, Svetina, Svetli dol, Šentjanž nad Štore and Štore. In the east, the municipality borders the municipality of Šentjur, in the north and west the municipality of Celje, and in the south the municipality of Laško.

The administrative center of the municipality is in the settlement of Štore, which is divided into two parts: the industrial part, where the Štore ironworks operated in the past, but today a large number of smaller companies operate in these buildings, and the residential part - Lipa, where there is a primary school, a kindergarten, a secondary school Štore, health center, post office and facilities intended for sports activities. The Štor industrial center has expanded significantly in recent years, as two new craft zones have emerged: the Štore craft zone and the Štore - East craft zone, where many companies have acquired their new business premises.

Considering the size of the municipality, only one local community has only one local community, namely KS Svetina, which is based in Svetina.

The inhabitants of the municipality mostly migrate daily to work in Štore or to neighboring municipalities, but some of them also make a living from agriculture: animal husbandry, agriculture, fruit and vegetable production, viticulture, etc. Some local crafts, which have been preserved to this day: charcoal, pottery and blacksmithing, are also very characteristic and well-known.
