Planinski dom na Poreznu

The home stands on the northern side a little below the top of Porežno (1630 m). The first hut, which stood at the top, was built by the Cerkljan branch of the SPD and opened on August 11, 1907. In 1922, the hut was occupied by the Italian border guard; In 1945, only ruins remain of it. In 1946, PD Cerkno decided not to restore the old hut, but to convert the Italian barracks just below the summit into a mountain outpost. The hut was opened on August 14, 1949. In 1974, the hut was named after the national hero Andrej Žvan-Boris (1915-1945), who fell in battle with the Germans on Porežno On March 24, 1945. In 1980, they began to restore and upgrade. A wooden second floor was built above the brick ground floor, and the old premises were renovated. The enlarged and modernized outpost was opened on September 14, 1986. In 1993, Mobitel was included.

 There are 70 seats in two catering rooms, a bar; There are 60 seats at the tables in front of the house; There are 31 beds in 7 rooms, and 33 beds in the common bed; WC, washroom and shower with hot and cold water; In the first restaurant area, a pottery stove; Water drip, power generator, mobile phone. In 1998, a photovoltaic system for supplying the hut with electricity was also installed at the cottage as part of the Ecological rehabilitation of mountain huts.

The home is permanently open from the last week of June to mid-September. Outside of the summer season, it is open on weekends in case of good weather.

In the building next to the hut there is a bivouac or Winter room with three emergency beds.

The view from Porezna is very nice. On the eastern side, near Davč, behind it is the Škofjeloška mountain range with Blegoš, further on by the Polhograj hills, the Ljubljana basin and the Posavina hills; On the southern side, we first see the steep slopes of Porežno with the narrow valley of Zapoška with Poče and Cerkni, the peaks of the Idrijski hribovje with Bevkovo vrh and Kojca, and behind Trnovski gozd, Nanos, Javornike and Snežnik; To the southwest, the view stretches across Banjšice towards the Friuli plain; Towards the west, the slopes of Porežno fall into the Baška grapa, and above it line the peaks of the Tolmin mountains and Matajur in the background, in clear weather the Dolomites can be seen behind it; In the north, above the Baška grapa, the peaks of the Lower Bohinj mountains rise with Kobla, Črna prstja, Rodica and Voglo, on the southern slopes we can see the villages of Stržišče and Rut, and behind the central part of Julijcev with Triglav; On the right are Slatnik, Lajnar and Dravh above Soriška planina and Ratitovec in the foreground, and on the horizon the Karavanke and Kamniška Alps.
