Šenka's homestead, with its clustered layout of eight buildings covered with wooden roofs, is an inimitable gem of Alpine architecture, which our ancestors founded more than 500 years ago. The main house is believed to be the year 1517 and the settlement was created after the drainage of the Great Lake in the 14th century. With a love for the heritage of the ancestors, the homestead has preserved its original image, and the house, with its space, atypical majesty, is protected as a cultural monument of national importance and thus subject to strict protection. We are aware of its invaluable value, so we are happy to preserve it and share its rich history with you.

Activities and events at Šenko's homestead
At Šenka's homestead, we offer a place to organize events for closed groups who want to relax in unspoiled nature during the activities offered by the farm's environment under the mighty 2,000-meter peak of the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps.

We organize family celebrations, anniversaries and weddings. Upon prior agreement, we organize the entire event according to your wishes or we only offer you the rental of the space. You can also stretch out the event into the night and gather around the evening campfire, and sleeping in the hayloft takes you back to the times of our grandparents.

To spice things up, you can also compete in farm games and various other sports activities: table tennis or badminton, you can shoot a bow or play volleyball on the grass.

Our trained horses can take you to a short or longer field trip accompanied by an experienced riding instructor. We also take care of the first riding experience for children and adults.

For a pleasant summer vacation, we organize holiday camps for children with an emphasis on riding and getting to know the environment that surrounds us.

In winter, we offer you to rent running equipment, as our farm is surrounded by well-maintained running tracks. You can do as much as 15 kilometers in one lap and go on cross-country skis into the heart of Ravenska Kočna.

Our Culinary
At Šenka's homestead, we strive to preserve the old home-made dishes that our grandmothers cooked and are inextricably linked to life on the farm, celebrations and changes of the seasons. We also adapt the cuisine to the wishes of the guests and try to breathe new meaning into old dishes.

Masunjek on homemade bread, buckwheat brandy with ajmoht, goulash with bread dumplings, sour milk, homemade cold cuts, potatoes from the home field and mint syrup are a constant in our offer, to which the buns add the finishing touch With homemade plum jam or smorn with česplje jam. We revive the baking of bread in the bread oven and add posmodule - farm pizzas - to the menu; Dough - spread with sour cream and sprinkled with crackers or local herbs.

A special place is occupied by dishes that were eaten on certain holidays. Lake Zos for Lent, Bula for Easter, Breaded Schnits for St. Florjana, of course, crispy roasted lamb For every slightly more festive day, the culinary tradition of our home is important.

Buckwheat porridge
Buckwheat brandy is prepared here in the Carinthian way: by burning. So they are really brandy and not cooked and they have a particularly good taste. Of course, we whiten them with crackers and the best match with the local ajmoht or stew. This can be veal, sheep or poultry.
