In a lonely Matko's corner
The homestead is located in the Kamnik-Savinjske Alps, in the small, hidden valley of Matkovo kota. We are surrounded by a crown of Matkovo kota mountains. From Matkovo Grintovec, Matkova Kopa, Mrzla gora, Hudih dan, Hude praska, Matkovo okna, Savinjek and Veliki vrh, which separates Matkov as from Logarska dolina.
The estate stretches from an altitude of 900 meters to 2,203 meters - to the top of Mrzla gora, and the homestead itself lies at an altitude of 1165 m. The name of the farm is old, like the names of most Solčava farms.

we farm nature friendly
We want the food we produce to be healthy and not to ravage nature through farming. We farm according to ecological guidelines and have been a registered organic farm for several years.
In our country, we grow indigenous and traditional Slovenian breeds of animals: zika cows, sheep of the Jezera-Solčava breed, of which we are particularly proud, as the breed was created in our place, the Carniolan lavender bee, Styrian hens, pigs, Horses, donkeys, goats... In short: you can find a diverse group of animals in our pastures.
Perhaps you have not yet heard that in Solčavské, the farms called the family all - local people, hired labor and also animals - all the inhabitants of the farm were a family.
Cultivating meadows and forests is time-consuming, there is a lot of manual work. Animal husbandry does not bring a large income, but we persist, because with it we preserve the landscape as we received it from our ancestors, we love it and it is admired by the people who come to us.

our forests
Due to its altitude, the wood of our forests is of exceptional quality. We cut mostly in winter, when the wood is dormant, when there is no growth. Smaller quantities of wood for special clients are also prepared by cutting the wood on a certain date, according to the lunar calendar. If desired, the wood is also cut and air-dried.
Walking in our forests through a multitude of forest roads (bike) and paths (walk) is a cure for body and soul. In the forests, birds and other wild animals sound, which you can observe in their natural environment.

You can live in rooms with two or three beds, with a shower and a toilet.
The four rooms have a nice view from the balconies to the Savinjske Alps, and the three rooms have no balconies, which doesn't bother you too much, as you can stay outside or on shared balconies for most of the day.
In the attic, there are two large rooms available to guests, which you can use for morning exercise, children for playing, for joint exercises (singing choirs), for an educational seminar, ...
