Green Village – a boutique village

In December 2013, the boutique, fairy-tale green village of Ruševec opened its doors, a unique example of ecological, sustainable or green tourism in Slovenia. Five ecological log cabins and the permaculture circle Ruševec with ten stations want to conjure up a natural, green story from Pohorje. On the Mariborsko Pohorje, only 2 km from the upper station of the Pohorska funicular, there are five eco-bridges built according to the oldest recognized grove system of massive wooden houses in the world, Log Homes:

• Pohorska spruce trunks fi 35 cm from an altitude of 1000-1200 m above sea level,
• protecting wood with natural oils,
• green roof with extensive greening and natural thermal insulation made of organic sheep wool,
• 35 m² in size with sleeping gallery,
• massive cherry or walnut furniture,
• natural bio wool bed set, etc.

The ecologically oriented Bravus log cabin is a healthy house built exclusively from natural ecologically sound materials such as wood and sheep's wool. Due to the wooden walls and sheep's wool, the room has a very good living climate, which is replaced twice a day through the walls without drafts. This makes it possible to live in a natural living environment. What we took from nature by felling the Pohora spruce, we also returned it to it in the form of organic log cabins.
