Dežela okusov ("Land of Flavours") is the only 100% gluten-free restaurant in Ljubljana and the second in Slovenia. It was opened in 2015 by the family company Rosi Zgonc d.o.o., which has also offered Bed & Breakfast accommodation since 2018.
In 2021 the original "lots of beer and meat" concept was upgraded so that guests who avoid or cannot eat gluten can enjoy the full menu. Everything that made the restaurant special was kept, with a refined modern touch added. The transformation was a real challenge, as gluten-safe ingredients are scarce on the local market, but with hard work and expert help it succeeded – as countless happy guests confirm.
The kitchen maintains the highest standards of hygiene: all ingredients are washed and cleaned on arrival, before storage or preparation, so there is no risk of gluten contamination.
Today's rich and varied food and wine menu is a true culinary treat. Gluten-free dishes taste no different from "regular" ones, since gluten has neither taste nor smell – so everyone can enjoy top-quality cuisine, worry-free.
