Druga violina

Since June 2012, the "Second Violin" has been operating on Stari trg in Ljubljana. At first glance, it is a completely ordinary inn, but it soon reveals its uniqueness -- it trains people with intellectual disabilities. They prepare tablecloths, greet guests and pick up orders, cook and serve coffee and more. Currently, 28 residents of the Draga Care Work Center, which is also the initiator and manager of the inn, are included in the training program.

The second violin operates within the framework of the management, protection and employment service under special conditions, which is an organized form of protection that fulfills the fundamental human rights of adults with disabilities determined by the constitution and the laws to a service that gives these persons (hereinafter: users) the opportunity to be active in accordance with their abilities involvement in social life and the work environment and performing useful, but suitable work for their abilities.
