A good local inn must be recognizable. Must have something that others don't have. Or better than others. Or exactly what others have, but good ones. A good local inn must be, in short, known for something (good)! Just like Ančka from Šenčur. Ančka is a very nicely decorated inn with friendly staff. The inn has a long tradition and good local Slovenian food. It spread all the way from a small inn with a few tables to the current, modern and pleasantly furnished inn. They have an outer part, a huge terrace and an inner part that can accommodate around 100 people. The food is natural and freshly prepared. The specialties of the house are homemade štruklji: buckwheat, cheese, chocolate, chives, walnut potica and brandy. A good local inn must be recognizable. Must have something that others don't have. Or better than others. Or exactly what others have, but good ones. A good local inn must be, in short, known for something (good)! Just like Ančka from Šenčur. On his dining list, he has the whole Who's who of Slovenian national cuisine, including Anček's steak, which, of course, is Parisian, of course stuffed, of course with ham and, of course, with cheese... but mention just the word Ančka to anyone and he will answer you: "Struklji!" This is exactly what is otherwise (most) lacking in Slovenian national cuisine. Say to anyone: "Slovenia," and what will he answer you? Carniola sausage? Potica? žlikrofi? Prekmurska gibanica? štruklji? Unfortunately, we don't! Because there are (yet) too few inns like Ančka!
