Gostilna pri Škafarju

The inn Pri Škafar with a 20-year tradition is located in the center of Idrija. You can find us in the old city center in St. Barbara between the Town Square and St. Ahacia. In addition to selected dishes to order, hot snacks and pizzas from the bread oven, we also prepare Idrija specialties. The most famous are Idrija žlikrofi, always fresh, made by hand and according to a home recipe. In the summer season, we prepare local specialties Smukavc and Zeljševka by prior order. As an aperitif, we recommend the old Knapsack drink Geruš. The inn accommodates 55 guests, also has a smaller room for closed groups, and can accommodate an additional 16 guests in the summer garden. The latest part of our offer are accommodation. There are 4 rooms available, with different bed capacity (10 beds in total). In the bar, the original illustrations of the historical story "Ob srebrni studenac" by the Slovenian painter Rudi Skočir are exhibited, which show the discovery of mercury and the life of the legendary Škafar. The colored stained glass with the image of Škafar, the finder of mercury, stands out in particular. Schedule: Monday to Thursday: 11:00 - 16:00 Friday and Saturday: 11:00 - 15:00 and 18:00 - 21:00 Sunday and holidays: 11:00 - 20:00 By prior arrangement, the inn can be open for groups of more than 15 people at any time outside of working hours.
