In 1905, the inn was bought by Karel Bergman, a Slovene from Carinthia, with whom the writer Ivan Cankar stayed in 1910 and lived there until his death in 1917. He felt very good at Rožnik. He lived in a room with a window facing the church. Where the memorial room is today, he stayed only occasionally, but otherwise Oton Zupančič slept there several times when he visited his friend. Cankar's loves from that time were especially Mici Pfeiferjeva, Mici Kessler and Milena Rohrmanova.

From Cankar's time on Rožnik, one of his most important literary works, Images from a Dream, dates back, in which the writer describes the local chestnut in his own way as a kind of tree sign, the symbol of Rožnik.

This is a chestnut that blooms earlier and richer, that lives longer and deeper (it is like that in the original. Otherwise, it is more deeply.) than all the others that resist winter for a long time after all other trees have sprouted.?

After the Bermans left Ljubljana, their relatives Franzot took over the inn, after which they changed a few more owners until they came to the drum at the end of the twenties.

In 1930, it was bought by Alojz Obersne at the auction of the then People's Loan. Stiška monks were also interested in the location. The architect Plečnik planned to build a seven-story house for the monastery, as a kind of pendant to the Ljubljana Castle, but the abbot of Stis changed his mind, apparently not because of money, but because of the couples, which were never lacking in Rožnik. built in 1834 and is still mainly as it is today, although it was renovated in 1937 and 1938. Rožnik was sometimes called Zgornji Rožnik, and the part near Čad was called Spodnji Rožnik.

Before the Second World War, the people of Ljubljana walked across Rožnik in the morning to the inn, which the then owner Alojz Obersne was very happy to open even at five o'clock in the morning, had white coffee for breakfast and then went to work.

Today, the owner of Alojz's daughter is Mrs. Ivica, and the inn is managed and managed by Dejan Kavčič. Together, they take care of the cultural heritage of the house and its environment. The house acts as a good hill outpost, guests are served soup, roasted potatoes, roasts, steaks, goulash, tripe, veal stew, ricette and jota, štruklji, walnut and tarragon potica, They also bake a delicious cheese and apple roll. On Saturdays and Sundays, the people of Ljubljana like warm flancats the most.

Gostilna Rožnik is a kind of litmus paper in Ljubljana. When the city is emptied in the summer, Rožnik is also more alone, but otherwise the most visits are in autumn and winter, so that they serve outside even when there is snow, of course tea and mulled wine.

Rožnik is a real treasure of the past, but at the same time it is also a symbol of perseverance and a more than two-hundred-year-old tradition of hospitality, which should not be lost in any way.
