"We couldn't resist the challenge of opening our own restaurant, because that was always our desire, which was quietly smoldering in us and waiting for our moment. Then, at the end of 2010, Pivovarna Laško's initiative came to consider a restaurant at Tabor Laško Castle, and thus the beginning of the colorful story of Pavus."

Pleasant fragrances began to intertwine from behind the walls of the restaurant on April 15, 2011, when it opened its doors publicly. Through creative cuisine, modern cooking techniques and the selection of fresh local ingredients, Pavus creates new Slovenian cuisine from the hands of chef Marko Pavčnik.

Our philosophy: locally and fresh through modern cooking techniques, to which guests indulge in pleasure.

Marko Pavčnik
Marko Pavčnik (b. 1980) started his professional career precisely at Tabor Laško Castle, as an intern. At a very young age, he became the chef at the Impoljca manor, and continued in Alma's home above Celje. As an "a la carte" chef, he had a free hand at Hotel Žonta (Šentjur), helped launch the Žerjavček restaurant in Trzin and worked as a kitchen manager at Hotel Evropa (Celje).

His creativity and success are distinguished by quite a few gold and silver medals at the competitions of the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Slovenia, where he was also noticed by the Association of Chefs and Confectioners of Slovenia. With the invitation to the national team came some more good results and successes.

Today, he successfully continues his journey where he started it - at Tabor Laško Castle, where he runs his own restaurant of modern Slovenian cuisine, Pavus.
