Šmartinsko jezero

Five kilometers outside Celje lies Šmartinsko jezero, which, with an area of 113 ha and 12.1 km of the coast, is one of the largest Slovenian artificial lakes. It is surrounded by forest, meadows and small hamlets. In addition to the varied fish kingdom and forest animals along the coast, a family of swans recently settled on the lake. There is a lot of potential for exploration and adventure; On foot, by bicycle or by boat. Along the coast there is a well-maintained footpath full of idyllic corners under the treetops. Where watching the sunrise by the lake is a very good idea.

In cooperation with the Nivo Kayak Canoe Club from Celje (a club with a 43-year tradition and active activity in top sport, organizing matches at the national and international level), we offer you the rental of competitive kayaks, Creeking, Rodeo, River Running or travel kayaks. Experienced kayaking instructors and coaches also teach you the basics. Or they prepare for the World Cup.
