In the idyllic heart of NE Štajerska, where the Drava Valley spreads out, lies Slovenska Bistrica with its old wine tradition, which already shaped the fate of the wine trade of the time in the 16th century. Even today, hills with around 160 ha of vineyards rise around the city, which represent rounded complexes with an extremely beautiful landscape pattern.

The Vehovar winegrowing family is located here, and with heart, tradition and love for wine and vines, they produce top-quality wines in the Styrian region. 20 hectares of first-class land, a favorable location constantly illuminated by the sun and warm wind, are the key factors of their vineyards in Ritoznoj and its surroundings.

Vision
We want to show the world top wines that are the fruit of the Styrian wine-growing area, which enables the production of a sweet noble drop. We want to push our crops to top quality with the most modern wine technology. We want to increase our visibility beyond the borders and show the openness of the people of Podpohora and the charm of the top wine there. Also noble sweet fresh drops.

Vehovar wines belong to the wine-growing region of Štajerska Slovenija, which is the largest district in Slovenia with as many as 8,685 ha of the best wine-growing regions. We pay special attention to the production of white varieties of wine, which are dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, selection, and all the way to the dry strawberry selection and the red blue Frankincense variety. Today, in the wine cellar, we fill top-quality bottled wines (in bottles of 0.375; 0.5; 0.75 l), as well as bottles of capacity (1l) of quality wine.

The production series is divided by individual varieties of different vintages. After all, each variety has its own unique tastes and aromas in individual harvests, which give each vintage a special and unique wine charm. Good wines are the result of hard work in the vineyard throughout the year. When ripening the noble drop, we try to preserve the tradition of cultivation naturally. which can be seen in the climatically controlled fermentation, the result of which are wines with a natural aroma, flower and authentic taste, as well as a suitable ratio between sugar, acid and alcohol. Through the wine, an authentic fingerprint of nature is experienced, which the tasters perceive in the sips of wine, nature and vineyards, and perceive the winegrowers and the winemaker's attitude towards this noble commodity.

The Vehovar winery is located in Modraže 22a, 2319 Poljčane, i.e. 10 km outside of Slovenska Bistrica. If you want to visit us, we are always at your disposal, where we bring you with your entourage to the very door of the cellar.
