KKŠ - Klub koroških študentov

The Carinthian Students' Club (hereafter KKŠ) is the umbrella student organization of the Carinthia region and one of the oldest clubs in Slovenia, as it was founded in 1952. Student organization in Slovenia is based on four pillars: the Student Organization of the University of Ljubljana (ŠOU), the Student Organization of the University of Maribor (ŠOUJ), the Student Organization of the University of Primorska (ŠOUP) and the Association of Student Clubs of Slovenia (ŠKIS Association), which includes 50 clubs across Slovenia, including the Carinthian Students' Club, which consequently means that KKŠ is a club with the status of a student organization of a local community (ŠOLS) In Slovenia. All the mentioned organizations are united in the Student Organization of Slovenia (ŠOS), which is therefore the umbrella organization of all students who are educated in Slovenia and takes care of representing the interests of all students, especially in relation to the state.

The purpose of the KKŠ is to establish the best possible social position of members and to develop extracurricular and interest activities in the area of the Carinthia region, or all four administrative units that cover the area of operation of the KKŠ: UE Slovenj Gradec, UE Dravograd, UE Radlje ob Drava and UE Ravne In Carinthia. Due to the large area of operation of the KKŠ, it is becoming more and more accessible to its members at the branches: Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenj Gradec and Radlje ob Drava, as well as in university cities: Ljubljana and Maribor, where members can use the obtained subsidies, learn about student activities in Slovenia and join to the realization of projects.

The most high-profile KKŠ projects are:

• Carinthian gouda in all three university towns (Ljubljana, Maribor and Portorož);
• KKŠ Festi – all-day events held in a sporting spirit and with evening entertainment with well-known Slovenian groups;
• Arresting: all education under one roof - workshops, courses, instruction...

Important areas are also represented by the Student Section with various projects and activities for students and culture, which includes various literary evenings, the end of the KKŠ Summer in the Park, a visit to a foreign city and a musical event in it, filmosophical evenings, (s)let's limit ourselves with KKŠ...

The projects implemented by KKŠ are: winter camp, one-day projects, projects in the field of social and sports (mainly discounts and benefits for members, tenders for associations...)

In any case, our biggest project is the KMKC complex, where we organize parties as well as concerts, stand-up evenings, poker tournaments, parties with a DJ, metal parties, concerts by more alternative groups and also a lot of educational and cultural content.  

With a varied program that we design in the fields of culture, social, education, sports and entertainment for students of the Carinthia region, we create better leisure time for our members and contribute to greater independence of students in the field of social welfare.
