The Museum of Recent History of Celje is a city museum that takes care of the movable cultural heritage of Celje and the Celje region and presents it to the widest circle of the public. It is located in the building of the former city magistrate in the center of the city.

When you visit the museum, you can see a permanent exhibition Living in Celje, the story of the life of Celje and the people of Celje in the 20th century, you visit Herman's lair, the only children's museum in Slovenia, a place for children's creativity, you can see photo studio and Pelikan gallery, the only preserved glass studio in Slovenia from the end of the 19th century, on dental collections get to know the rich technical heritage of Slovenian dentistry or visit Old Pisker, a memorial space for victims of Nazi violence from the time of the Second World War.

The Museum of Recent History of Celje prepares and implements special programs for museum visitors with the aim of popularizing cultural heritage and the historical, ethnological and museological profession. It offers varied programs for children and adults, for groups, families and individuals. It offers new knowledge, insights and experiences. By reviving objects and their stories, it clarifies the past, helps in understanding the present and co-creates the future.
